Parents’ Race

If you would like to take part in the parents’ race, no registration is required. Simply make your way to the track when invited towards the end of the event.

Nursery to Year 2 Stations

“Fun Games” Covered Pitch

The covered pitch will be divided into two playing areas:

One for Nursery & Reception

One for Year 1 and Year 2

Reception and Nursery will compete in a game called "Conquer the Kingdom". In this game, house teams face off against each other, aiming to knock down all the skittles on the opposing side. The game will follow a round-robin format, giving each house the chance to compete against the others.

Year 1 and Year 2 will play the "Meteorite Game". Each team will defend their line while trying to send the "meteorite" (Kingball) past the opposing team's line to another "planet." Every time the meteorite crosses the line, their house earns one point. The game will follow a round-robin format, giving each house the chance to compete against the others.

Station 1 - Obstacle Course

Students will navigate the obstacle course with agility, aiming to complete it as swiftly as possible without touching any equipment.

To ensure fair competition, scores will be recorded using a tally chart.

Points will be distributed as follows:

4 points for 1st place

3 points for 2nd place

2 points for 3rd place

1 point for 4th place

Station 2 - Water relay

Students will race to the water containers equipped with a ladle. Upon reaching the containers, they will scoop water with the ladle and return to pour it into the measuring cup.

The winning team will be determined by the volume of water collected, with the highest volume securing victory.

Following the activity, the standings for each house group will be determined based on water volume, with rankings awarded as follows:

4 points for 1st place

3 points for 2nd place

2 points for 3rd place

1 point for 4th place

Station 3 - Hurdles

Each child will run to the cone in front, clearing all the hurdles along the way. After rounding the cone, they will return to their line—no hurdling is required on the way back.

Scores will be recorded using a tally chart. Once all sprints are completed, the standings for each house group will be determined as follows:

4 points for 1st place

3 points for 2nd place

2 points for 3rd place

1 point for 4th place

Station 4 – Space Hoppers

Start line

You will have a maximum of 2 students per house, per race

If you have more than 6 students for any race (there are 6 lanes), split them into 2 races with an even split of houses in each

Line the students up in the correct lanes, as per the picture below

Each race needs to start with the instruction: raise your hand straight above your head and say, “take your marks, get set, *loud whistle blow” and drop your hand simultaneously

As soon as you start one race, line up the next race and repeat the process when the staff at the finish line signal.

Finish line

Each member of staff will be responsible for placing a pair of runners e.g. position 1 and 2 or 4 and 5, and so on

The staff member placing positions 1 and 2 needs to start the timer when the race starter drops their hand and stop the timer when the winner crosses the finish line. We are only timing the winner of each race

Record the positioning by sitting the students in the relevant chairs, write their names and points on the score sheet

Present one medal to the winner of the event and direct them to the podium for a photograph

Return the score sheet to the scoring table.
